Basic Measuring & Transfer of Scale

scale figure place on different ground level 1 pt persp

Given an up-close figure standing on the street, place a same size figure in the rear, then raise it up to the sidewalk level in 1 point perspective.

We start with our figure up front standing on the street with a sidewalk going off into the distance.  There already is an EL-VL, and VP on our canvas.  First, we will choose where we will be placing our figure on the sidewalk in the rear.

We need to place a RefP on the EL-VL in a space that that allows us to measure scale from the top and bottom of our front figure.  Please keep in mind that you also need to reach where we want to place our second figure in the rear from this location.

First, measure the figure on the same level of ground then later transfer this measurement up and move over horizontally onto the sidewalk surface.

Draw guidelines and measure the height of our front figure.

Move the measurement over to the sidewalk.  Once next to the sidewalk, raise the figure up the same amount of height as the sidewalk raises there.  Then slide to the left horizontally placing the figure in the center of the sidewalk (higher) surface.
